The Case Of Jonbenet Ramsey - 971 Words

â€Å"To serve and protect,† isn’t that the motto of many law enforcement agencies and what we learn in beginning criminal justice classes to create a better justice system? In the case of JonBenet Ramsey, there were many factors in the case that wasn’t handed properly which may have led to the unsolved case. Should the police or prosecutors be blamed for not being able to solve the case? Do crimes go unpunished each day and finally what responsibility do the police and others hold in cases? These are all questions we must answer to better understand how our justice system works and the efficiency level of the members of our government. I personally believe in holding the police and the entire justice system to a higher standard than other organizations. When looking at the information from the article, I believe there is a large amount of blame to be placed on a multitude of people for the justice’s system incapability of solving the case. To begin with I think we must look at the father, of JonBenet. He stated, â€Å"Jon Ramsey, picked up and moved his daughter’s body from the storeroom where he found her† (Lyman, 2010, p.9). Now, many may argue that this is okay to move the body but in reality this simple movement of the body may have tampered with a vital piece of evidence allowing the killer to remain at large. On a professional level the police and investigation team are at fault as well.
